RELAX. The first step is to relax, and breathe. Sit in a quiet room, breathe, and just let yourself relax for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Allow yourself to worry, process it, and then let it go. It may feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders - but stress and anxiety will pass just like anything else. Panicking will only make your anxiety worse.
ACCEPT WHAT YOU CAN'T CHANGE. In many cases of stressed related anxiety - you wonder how you can make it better by changing things or fixing the problem. However, sometimes you have to realize that you cannot fix everything and you must accept that you can't change it. You just have to go with the flow and handle what comes your way. You take it one step at a time. Keep telling yourself what doesn't kill you, will only make you stronger - and this is so true.
FOCUS ON THE POSITIVES. Instead of thinking of all the negative effects of a situation - try to focus on the positives. It may be very hard, but you may in fact find a positive outcome to the situation by stopping yourself to focusing on all the things that could go wrong.
LEARN FROM THE EXPERIENCE. This is one of the most important things you can do in a stressful situation. Take all the good and the bad together. Think about it, and try to find a learning experience from it. You live and you learn. The next time your faced with a stressful situation that causes anxiety - you will find that you may handle it better than previous times by teaching yourself HOW to handle it.
TALK ABOUT IT. Nothing makes anxiety worse than NOT talking about it to anyone. Keeping things bottled up can only cause more stress and more anxiety. Talk to a friend, family member, or therapist. Sometimes just saying it out loud and speaking about it will make you feel 100\% better about things.
DON'T TAKE IT OUT ON YOURSELF. Almost every single person has anxiety at one time or another - if not every day. You should never take it out on yourself or blame yourself for the problem. The world can get stressful and everyone goes through hard times.
DO CALMING THINGS. It is also important that you do things that will help you become more relaxed and less stressed. Take a hot bath, pamper yourself, get lost in a good book, listen to uplifting relaxing music, and do things that you enjoy in your spare time.
SEE A DOCTOR. If your anxiety and stress become too overwhelming and you have tried every possible way to make yourself feel better - you might want to consider seeing a doctor. They may be able to prescribe you a medication to help yourself relax and reduce the amount of anxiety you are dealing with.
